About CCI4EU

Capacity Building Programme to Reduce Inequalities

Cancer is the second leading cause of death in Europe, with cases expected to rise by 25% by 2035. Significant and unacceptable disparities persist across and within countries in access to high-quality care, research, and innovation.

CCI4EU addresses these challenges by supporting the development of Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures (CCIs), strengthening coordination, reducing fragmentation, and improving equitable access to care, research and education across Europe.

CCI4EU is a Network to Improve Cancer Education, Research and Care

Consortium
54 Partners from 27 European Member States and 5 Associate Countries work together to develop recommendations on how to structure future capacity building projects and how to develop and scale up National / Regional Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures.

What is a Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructure?

The Mission Board of the EU Mission on Cancer has defined Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures as ‘national or regional infrastructures that provide resources and services to support, improve and integrate cancer care, research, training of care professionals and education for cancer patients, survivors and families/carers.’ Read more

Deep Dives

Deep Dives are structured, on-site interventions where international experts work with local stakeholders to assess cancer systems, identify gaps, and co-develop practical improvements across care, research, and governance.

Capacity Building Conferences

Three Capacity Building Conferences brought together stakeholders from across Europe to share experiences, exchange best practices, and strengthen collaboration in the development of cancer infrastructures.

Online Courses

Ten online courses provide targeted training and educational resources to address identified gaps and support capacity building within Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures (CCIs).

CCI4EU Resource Centre

The CCI4EU Resource Centre provides tools, resources, and practical guidance to support the development of Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures (CCIs).
